SDH High-Aperture Multi-Purpose Spectrometer

The SDH family of spectrometers may be supplied in two versions: the SDH-I model, incorporating one fixed diffraction grating; the SDH-IV model with a four-position turret of diffraction gratings (manual switching)

  • High resolution – up to 0.06nm
  • High aperture ratio of 4.4
  • A wide choice of detectors, including TE cooled models
  • A kit of accessories for light input into the spectrometer

Description

The standard delivery set of the SDH spectrometer includes:

  • An 8-position turret with filters for blocking higher-order spectra (three standard filters, manually switchable)
  • A two-lens UV silica condenser (focal length = 16 mm)
  • An optical fiber with an SMA-905 adapter
  • Two synchronization cables (direct and reverse)
  • A USB control cable

This comprehensive configuration allows you to select the most suitable method for delivering analyzed radiation to the spectrometer.

Ease of Use and Reliability
The SDH spectrometers are user-friendly and robust. They are factory-calibrated, contain no moving parts, and feature a rigid, thermally stable design.

Custom Configuration
The spectral range and resolution—determined by the density of the diffraction grating—are selected at the time of ordering. Average values for grating dispersion, spectral resolution, and CCD detector passband are provided in the specifications. For detailed parameter calculations tailored to your needs, it is recommended to consult a SOLAR LS specialist.

Triggering Capabilities
The SDH can be triggered by an external light source using standard TTL signals via the BNC-58 connector, and it can also output TTL trigger pulses for synchronization with other equipment.

Optical Fiber Options
The SDH can be equipped with VUV or FWF optical fibers of various lengths to suit different applications.

Optional Accessories for Enhanced Light Collection
The SDH supports a wide range of accessories for efficient light capture from both near and far sample positions:

  • Condenser PS-2 – for light collection from 40 mm distance, optimized for broad spectral range, transmitting light into a fiber or entrance slit.
  • Condenser PS-3 – for 29 mm distance, offering a wide aperture angle and efficient light transmission.
  • Adapter FA-1 – achromatic design for 3D-aligned focusing of a parallel beam into a fiber.
  • Adapter FA-2 – achromatic, with axial alignment for fiber coupling.
  • Cassegrain objectives – collect light from long distances (3.5 m to infinity).
  • Diffuse attenuator FA-3 – attenuates laser beam before fiber delivery.
  • Cuvette holder FA-10 and DipProbes – designed for liquid analysis using interchangeable tips.

Options & Accessories

Upon request, the S100 spectrometer can be equipped with a high-order separating compound filter for effective operation with broadband spectra.

The S100 can also be supplied with VUV or FWF optical fibers of various lengths.

A broad selection of accessories ensures efficient light collection from samples located both at finite distances and at infinity:

  • Condenser PS-2 – optimized for sample distances of 40 mm, it collects light across a wide spectral range and transmits it into an optical fiber or onto the spectrometer’s entrance slit.
Condenser PS-3 – designed for 29 mm sample distances, it offers a wide aperture angle for effective light transmission.
Adapter FA-1 – an achromatic adapter with 3D alignment for focusing parallel beams into optical fibers.
Adapter FA-2 – an achromatic adapter with axial alignment for parallel beam focusing into optical fibers.
Cassegrain objectives – suitable for collecting light from distances ranging from 3.5 meters to infinity.
Diffuse attenuator FA-3 – designed to attenuate laser beams before coupling them into an optical fiber.
Cuvette holder FA-10 and DipProbes – available for liquid measurements, featuring interchangeable probe tips.
