Description

Wavelight.LAB Software Capabilities

Wavelight.LAB is designed to provide full-featured, automated control for devices within the Wavelight Technologies ecosystem. It supports the operation and integration of monochromators, detectors, and spectrometers, offering a powerful toolkit for spectroscopic research and analysis.

Core Functionality:

  • Automated control of all monochromator mechanisms
  • Detector control and data acquisition
  • Panoramic and scanning spectrum acquisition
  • Spectrum processing, editing, and saving
  • Creation, storage, and editing of wavelength calibrations
  • Full control over input/output triggering with light sources
  • Operation with intensity-calibrated spectrometers
  • Colorimetric analysis
  • PMT (Photomultiplier Tube) operation

User Interface Overview:

Wavelight.LAB features an intuitive interface made up of multiple panels for streamlined device management and data processing:

  • Main Panel – Central hub for software control.
  • Data Panel – Stores and manages recorded spectra.
  • Current Spectra Panel – Displays selected spectra for real-time viewing.
  • Camera Settings Panel – Adjusts detector parameters and acquisition settings.
  • Instrument Panel – Controls monochromator components, including:
    • Wavelength tuning
    • Grating selection
    • Order-sorting filter selection
    • Entrance and exit slit adjustments
    • Input/output port switching
    • Shutter operation
  • Status Bar – Displays system status and messages.

Scanning & Panoramic Acquisition:

Wavelight.LAB supports both scanning and panoramic modes for spectral recording, enabling flexibility depending on your measurement requirements.

Intensity Calibration:

If your spectrometer is delivered with intensity calibration, Wavelight.LAB includes a preloaded calibration coefficient table for spectral radiance plotting. Users may also create custom calibration tables as needed.

Colorimetry:

The Colorimetry Panel provides key metrics such as:

  • Chromaticity coordinates
  • Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)
  • Color Rendering Index (CRI)
  • CIE CAM02 indices

Users can select the standard observer angle (2° or 10°) and color space (CIE 1931, 1960, or 1976). The panel also displays the active color space, black body curve, reference illuminants (C, D50, D65), and the position of the measured light source.
